The version control server rejected the supplied password. Try creating a personal access token and using that in place of your password. If that results in the same error, try passing the username and password in the repository path (e.g. code>https://username:pat@server/repo/</code)

If you are using an on-premises TFS server such as Azure DevOps Server, please verify that HTTP Basic Authentication is enabled in IIS.

If your computer or your version control system is behind a proxy server, please make sure your proxy settings and credentials are correct.
